Breastfeeding Basics“No one I know breastfeeds. I wouldn’t know where to start!” After taking this class, you definitely won’t feel this way any longer. With Marianna, a registered nurse and certified lactation consultant, you will learn the many benefits of breastfeeding and the basics to get you and your baby started on the right track.
Marianna will talk specifically about latching and positioning for proper breastfeeding, breast care, and length and duration of feedings so you don’t have to worry about your baby not eating enough. She’ll also discuss pumping and storage of breastmilk, a necessity for the working mom.
Following the information session, she’ll facilitate question driven discussion. You’ll find it easy in this setting to get answers to your difficult questions.

Marianna graduated from Louisiana State University School of Nursing’s Baccalaureate Program and is a registered nurse. Her years of experience have focused on premature and full term infant care, with breastfeeding at its core.
As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Marianna teaches the art and science of breastfeeding. She takes a gentle, mother-baby-family centered approach that caters to each family’s unique need.
Marianna provides private consultation through The Mother’s Nest, LLC, where birds of a feather flock together. She is the proud mother of two amazing little chicks … and yes, of course, they were breastfed.
